Kwame Awua-Boateng is a Ghanaian songwriter, rapper and singer with stage name KwaMe Truuth from Cape Coast and was born to Dr. I. Awua-Boateng and Mrs. Comfort Awua Boateng.
Born on 10 th January, 1987 at Cape Coast in the Central Region of Ghana, he grew up in Kwahu Pepease then moved to Kumasi and later to Accra. He had his basic education in Cape Coast and continued to Mfanstipim School in Cape Coast where he studied Visual Arts. He gained admission to the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology where he studied Communication Design.
KwaMe Truuth has some unique attributes and that would definitely be his voice/vocal texture and his groovy nature of his sound. His immense interest in music fully manifested in junior high school. At the time, he had friends who were already recording where he got hooked. Thanks to his brother who had a range of musical collection, he usually sneaked in to listen and he eventually got influenced into the RnB and Hip-Hop culture.
He never attended any music school or whatsoever but his love for the culture had him learning for himself. A self-taught experience. In 2019, he released an EP dubbed “The ReInvention EP” which had a total of 6 songs on the EP. Different genres with different topics as Truuth tries to touch on issues affecting the immediate community and the globe at large. He also has a number of good songs to his credit. They include No Games, Virtuous, How Far, BTW vol. 1, 2 and 3, At First Sight (first studio recording), Grind, Irrelevant, Invasion, Ireti, How You Love Me, So Special, Nobody among others.
Apya, IPappi, Nitewolf, Rayne Prod, Phredxter, Senyo Cue, Mr. Caleb, Stylish MadeIt, DopeByMania (USA), J. Bux, Taylors, Tubhani Musik are some of the few producers the musician has worked with. Working with some other musicians, we can mention the likes of Ben Brainy, B.Bone, Jay Stormy, Fali Finest, Dede, Fay, YoungOne Lutinus, Shaike Munzoo, Myztik, OmoLah, Araya Afrika, BlurR, Mr. Melody, Nitewolf, Dillie, G. Ranks and Anne Parlow.
The rapper has had a number of interviews on Radio Focus, a campus-based radio station at the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology. Talking of shows, KwaMe Truuth performed at #JesusSaves, a Christian show in Accra at Maame Dokono Park in 2013 and Like A Boss in Kumasi.
