As his music develops further and continues to wow listeners with its raw, soulful intensity, he is an artist whose career is one to watch closely in the years to come.

How long have you been making music and what attracted you to it?
I’ve been experimenting with music for as long as I can remember, but it wasn’t until I got to college that I started taking it seriously. I was really drawn to the creative aspect; just being able to spend all my time making something that I thought was meaningful. Really just the act itself is what I love.

What were your first project and the people you worked with and which year?
My first project was an EP called “Easy Tomorrow,” which I started writing and recording when I was in college. It started out as a collaboration with one of my roommates at the time, but it turned into my own project. We were the only two involved in making that.

Who or what inspires you or motivates you? And why?
My love of making music inspires me. The opportunity to make something is just so exciting to me. Especially because music allows me to say things that I couldn’t really articulate otherwise.

What are your friends’ and parents’ thoughts on your career in singing?
Everyone I’m close to has been really supportive. I don’t really talk about my music that much, but whenever it comes up I’m really touched by how much other people seem to care and how much they genuinely seem to believe in what I’m doing.

What are some of the challenges you face in your career path?
I don’t really understand the concept of music marketing. It doesn’t make sense to me and I don’t think I’m a really good fit for that type of industry. To me, making music is just that; making music. All the other stuff is really kind of over my head.

How do you feel the Internet has impacted the music business?
I think it’s awesome. Anybody in the world can put their music up and any other person can find it and hear it. That’s really cool to me. The Internet has become like a virtual cassette trading realm which I think is a really good thing.

Do you have any advice for aspiring songwriters?
If it feels right, then it is.

What is your current project about?
I guess a few themes would be reflecting on the past and accepting the way things are now. Also, there are a lot of references to mental health issues.

What does this song mean to you?
I think meaning can only be derived from each person. My meaning might not resonate with someone else at all.

What are your hobbies?
I love reading, writing, dogs, vinyl records, thrift stores, and the beach.

What do you do aside from this profession?
I spend a lot of time with my girlfriend. I’m also an English teacher.

What is one message you would give to your fans?
Thank you.
