What drew you to music production in the first place?
I have always been drawn to music. Songwriting is actually my first love because it allowed me to tap into storytelling and tell various stories through song. Music production couples with songwriting very nicely and creates an atmosphere that promotes emotion and feeling.
What or whom do you go to for inspiration or motivation?
I am really inspired by life and the life that I live. There are so many experiences that have provided inspiration for me as well.
However, whenever I feel like I am lacking inspiration I just need to take a moment and be present because I truly believe that inspiration is all around us, but it is up to us to tap into it.
What are some of the obstacles you encounter in your career?
Early on it was difficult to truly find my sound and audience. I have always wanted to be true to who I am, but also relate to others, and I believe I am finding and creating both my sound and audience as I continue on my journey in music.
What distinguishes you as a creative individual?
I think what distinguishes me the most is that I am not afraid to stand out on my own and try something new. I have no problem with going against the current, and I look forward to continuing to make new waves in my creative journey.
What’s the significance of the current song or album in your life?
“Out In The Open Pt.1 ” is my first EP and it is so special to me because it tells the story of how I came to be “Out In The Open”.
For a while, I was hiding who I was and was not true to myself, but in time I began to be honest and true and that within itself was so freeing. So, I wrote each song very intentionally as I shared my story in hopes that it would help others because it definitely helped me.
What are you working on at the moment?
Well, I’m currently working on “Out In The Open Pt.2” which I expect to release fairly soon, but in the meantime, I am also working on a record for the summer that I hope will be very well received.
What are your plans for the year ahead?
I plan to continue to create and share music. I’m looking forward to and preparing to start performing soon as well. This year I have and will continue to put out a generous amount of music, so I hope it is well received!
