Beenie Man Ignites The Dancefloor With Amapiano Fusion ‘Boom Boom’

Dancehall legend Beenie Man teams up with rising Ugandan star Jokwiz Klean on “Boom Boom,” blending Amapiano with Pan-African rhythms for an infectious global anthem.

Beenie Man, jumps on his first Amapiano single, ‘Boom Boom’ (Amapiano Mix), produced by South Africa’s UPZ with rising Uganda’s artist Jokwiz Klean on co-lead vocals.

Beenie Man, born in Kingston, Jamaica, is a legendary dancehall and reggae artist with a career spanning several decades. From his early beginnings as a young kid in the 1980s to his rise to international fame in the 1990s, Beenie Man has been a prominent figure in the music industry, leaving an indelible mark on the Jamaican and global music scenes having also collaborated with the likes of Wyclef Jean and Janet Jackson.

Produced by South African house maestro UPZ and featuring rising Ugandan talent Jokwiz Klean, “Boom Boom” is a masterclass in cross-continental collaboration. The song seamlessly blends Beenie Man’s signature patois-laced hooks with Jokwiz Klean’s smooth delivery, all riding atop UPZ’s hypnotic Amapiano rhythms.

From the moment the track kicks in, it’s clear we’re in for something special. Beenie Man’s unmistakable voice cuts through the mix, his energy as infectious as ever. The interplay between the two vocalists is a highlight, with verses bouncing between English, Patois, Rugika, and Luganda. This linguistic diversity adds depth and authenticity to the track, making it a true Pan-African affair.

‘Boom Boom’s origins traces back to Uganda where Jokwiz was working on his debut single and Beenie Man was in Kampala City for a series of shows. Beenie loved the song and laced his vocals; a signature and catchy chorus hook and a verse.

South African based House music producer UPZ was working on Amapiano & Afrofusion productions at the time and after hearing the track, decided to marry the vocals with his own production and voila, a Pan African-Global collaboration was born.

UPZ’s production shines throughout, expertly balancing the percussive elements of Amapiano with subtle melodic touches. The build-up is gradual but irresistible, culminating in a saxophone solo that takes the energy to new heights before seamlessly transitioning into the final section.
