The Debut of LA’s Rising Star Kapture: Turning Fractured Bits Into Melodic Masterpieces.
A new artist, Kapture (real name Gabrielle Lambro), has made a splash in Los Angeles with her CD “New Beginnings.” Her rise from Palm Beach, Florida’s underbelly to the epicentre of the L.A. music industry is as fascinating as her music.
Kapture’s tale is one of triumph over hardship; she overcame the difficulties of her past in order to achieve artistic greatness. Her music reflects the raw intimacy of her journey to become “the new person that I am.”
An introverted but assured newcomer has entered the music scene today. With the release of “New Beginnings,” produced by the highly regarded Sam J. Garfield, Kapture sets the stage for the subsequent drop of four other songs in the summer of 2023.
The success of “New Beginnings” is a reflection of Kapture’s perseverance. The music gives life to the inspiring idea of a new beginning, a lovely promise of a better future. An elegy for violent relationships, sour recollections, and a dark history that finds release through music.
The song, which rides the line between alternative and hip-hop, takes a positive perspective towards suffering and betrayal. It’s driven by a punchy bassline, backed by smooth but powerful synthesisers, and lifted by the assured singing of Kapture. This song perfectly captures her early childhood sojourn into music as an escape from the chaos of her parent’s separation.
Kapture’s introspective diary entries and therapeutic poetry inspired the songs on her first EP of alternative hip-hop and R&B hits. The endeavour is therapeutic for Kapture, allowing her to release pent-up emotions, and inspirational for others who may be going through similar experiences.
Kapture gives its audience a genuine story told via music that is both moving and technically proficient. Hearing her on the radio, you can’t help but feel that Kapture has only just begun her incredible adventure.
The fact that this young artist can transform a personal tragedy into a moving, uplifting song is a credit to her fortitude and originality and gives hope for her future in the music business.
How long have you been making music and what attracted you to it?
I have been journaling since I was 16, 7 years ago. My journal was my escape and my place to be able to express my thoughts and feelings.
Turning my thoughts in my journal into music was a way for me to share what I have been through in hopes to reach and meet others that have had similar experiences. This process began in the late months of 2022.
What was your first project and the people you worked with and which year?
My first project is my song “New Beginnings” which is set to release on May 25th of this year. This is the first of five singles to be released this summer.
All 5 singles are produced, mixed, and mastered by Sam J Garfield who I began working with in November of 2022. One of the singles “Compare to Me” which is set to release on June 30th is featuring Jamie Love, another artist that is currently working with Sam J Garfield.
Who or what inspires you or motivates you? And why?
My inspiration comes from my mom who has taught me that hard times may come but you have the choice whether to give up during those times or to triumph over what has come to you. Having someone who is so strong and hardworking around me throughout my life has made me a go-getter who has learned that if you fall you pick yourself up, dust yourself off, and try again.
What are your friends and parents’ thoughts on your career in singing?
I am so lucky and grateful that many of my friends are also pursuing careers in the music industry and that often we get to work together.
As far as my parents go, my dad isn’t present in my life anymore but my mom has been my biggest supporter throughout it all. Through all the ups and downs and making the decision to move to Los Angeles to pursue my music career, I couldn’t ask for a better support system.
What are some of the challenges you face in your career path?
In my career as a hip hop/ R&B artist, I face the challenge of how people perceive me being someone who comes from privilege.
At the end of the day as an artist, I am here to create my art and this is me. if people like it they like it if they don’t, they don’t. All I know is me and I hope that people follow me and back me up as I continue to create and tell my story.
How do you feel the Internet has impacted the music business?
I feel that the music industry has drastically changed in the last few years. The internet has altered the way in which we create and engage in music.
For example, social media has made it easy for people to go viral which changes the dynamic of how many people are viewing an individual’s music just based on their platform and how many people are following them. The internet has also given us many tools to use when creating new music and has made things such as sounds easily accessible and at our fingertips.
Do you have any advice for aspiring songwriters?
My advice would be to surround yourself with supportive people and take advantage of any opportunity you may have to have a mentor or collaborate with other artists. It can be easy to be overwhelmed with the talent around you so just be yourself and stay true to who you are.
What is your current project about?
“New Beginnings” takes the alluring dream of a fresh start, the beautiful promise of things getting better, and makes it a reality. Moving to a new city has given me the opportunity of a lifetime to be involved in so many amazing artists’ journeys and to receive mentorship that I am so grateful for.
What does this song, “New Beginnings” mean to you?
New Beginnings is about leaving behind old relationships, toxic memories, and an abusive father. The beginning of a fresh start and the journey working up to things getting better and not letting what has happened in the past affect the present and the future.
What are your hobbies?
Journaling is where I spend most of my time. To me, writing is so powerful and allows me to express myself, write down my thoughts, and put my feelings into words.
What do you do aside from this profession?
Aside from music, I am a full-time realtor and I also own a horse grooming business that I have been running for the past 5 years now.
What is one message you would give to your fans?
You will face many defeats in life, but never let yourself be defeated. When you have a dream you have to grab it and never let go.
