Marina Maximilian Blumin, better known by her stage name Marina Maximilian, is a performer from Israel who specialises in singing, songwriting and acting.
She competed in the fifth season of the reality music competition programme Kokhav Nolad and finished in second place overall.
At the age of fifteen, Blumin performed in Hanoch Levin’s play Requiem at the Cameri Theater. Two years later, at the age of eighteen, he participated in the musical version of The Producers.
Marina Maximilian is one of Israel’s best and most recognised talents. She is a classically educated pianist, composer, virtuoso singer, and jazz vocalist. Some people refer to her as a “phenomenon that comes along once in a lifetime.”
In addition, she took part in the Acre Festival on two separate occasions, where she sang in the play Schmetterling (Farewell, Butterfly), which was awarded the first prize in 2005. She took part in Rabak in 2006 and was awarded an honourable mention for her contribution to writing the music for it.
Her victory on “A Star Is Born” Israel’s equivalent of “American Idol” was the catalyst for her first breakthrough into the public consciousness. The year 2014 saw the publication of Marina’s maiden studio album, titled “Step Into My World,” which ultimately earned the distinction of PLATINUM.
Her first role on television was in an episode of the drama series Pillars of Smoke, which was about a police department. Her most recent role was in the third season of the political thriller Fauda, in which she also acted.
Marina has travelled and performed all over the world, and she has collaborated with some of the most well-known performers in the world. In 2014, she was given the title “Woman of the Year in Music” by the most popular radio station in Israel.
Marina’s strong vocals show wonderfully in this pared-down interpretation of her most recent hit “Lord Save Me.” In the song, she begs a higher force to help us all love one another, and this version of the song is powerful and stripped down.
